Strip search unlawful, judge finds
January 3, 2007

In a decision releaased today, Mr. Justice David Tysoe has found that a strip search conducted at the Vancouver Jail violated the constitutional rights of the plaintiff, Cameron Ward, and awarded damages of $5,000 against the Province of British Columbia, as well as damages of $5,100 against the City of Vancouver for wrongful imprisonment and seizure of Mr. Ward's automobile.
